Smriti is a study app. This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose. Questions: support@smriti.study.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, your name (if you give one), your time zone, and what you study (level and class or year, if you tell us). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google.
- Password: your password never leaves your device in readable form. Your device turns it into a derived key and we store only a further-protected version of that, so we cannot read your password.
- Your study content: subjects, decks, cards (text, formulas and pictures you add), tasks, planned study blocks, exams, timer sessions, and your revision history and progress.
- Settings: reminder time, answer style, theme.
- Notifications: if you turn on reminders, an address that your browser's push service gives us for that device.
- Payments: the method (bKash, Nagad or Rocket), the number you paid from, the transaction ID and the amount. We never see your wallet PIN or any card details.
- Technical data: basic request logs (such as IP address and browser type) that our hosting provider keeps for security and for protecting sign-in from abuse. We use short-lived cookies to keep you signed in.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not show ads and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- We do not read your cards for any purpose other than running the app for you, except to look into abuse reports or a legal request.
Why we use it
To run your account, schedule your revision, send the reminders you asked for, confirm payments, keep the service secure, and answer support requests.
Cookies and storage
We set cookies only to keep you signed in and to protect sign-in. Your browser also stores a small amount of data on your device so the app can work offline, such as your last revision session and your theme choice. Signing out clears it.
Shared decks are public
When you share a deck, anyone with the link can read its cards and see its pictures, and the page can be shown in link previews. Your name appears only if you choose to show it. Stopping the share turns the link off. People who already added the deck to their own account keep their own copy.
Who helps us run Smriti
- Cloudflare hosts the app, the database and the file storage, and provides the human check on sign-up. Data may be processed in the countries where Cloudflare operates.
- Resend sends our emails (verification and password reset).
- Google if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Your browser's push service (for example Google or Apple) delivers notifications you turned on. The notification text can include the number of cards due and task or exam names.
We share information with authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and study content for as long as your account exists. If your subscription ends, your data stays and you can still view it and delete it. Pictures you removed from cards are cleaned up automatically after a few days. Payment records are kept as long as needed for our accounts and to resolve disputes.
Your choices
You can change your name and settings in the app and turn reminders off at any time. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or have your account and content deleted, email support@smriti.studyfrom the address on your account and we will act on it promptly.
Children
Smriti is for students. If you are under 16, please use it with the knowledge of a parent or guardian.
Security
We use encrypted connections, store passwords in protected form, and limit who can reach the admin tools. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app or by email.
